Hey there! We thought it would be useful to provide an example of using Cliq, since we had a few people telling us that they didn't get it. We totally understand, because Cliq is a new way of communicating over SMS and it might not be obvious from the start.
Let's take a look at 3 friends, Alice, Bob and Chris and how they planned an event using Cliq:
Alice sends a text from her cell phone to 77039 with the following:
cliq alice
This means that Alice will be recognized by the user name that she asked for, "alice", just like an instant messaging service.
Bob and Chris do the same thing in order to get their user names. Bob texts cliq bob and Chris sends cliq chris.
Now that they all have a unique user name that their friends can recognize, they can create a group chat (or a cliq as we like to call it):
Alice sends a text to 77039 with the following:
join bob
This means that Alice and Bob are in the same cliq. Any message sent to 77039 by Alice will be seen by Bob, and vice-versa.
Now, all Chris has to do is join the "Alice and Bob" cliq, by texting 77039 with the following:
join alice
This means that chris joined alice's cliq. But, because alice was in the same cliq with bob, this means that all three are in the same cliq.
Messages sent to the cliq by any of them will be forwarded to the other two friends.
Here's how the event was planned:
alice: hey guys, what time are we meeting?
bob: I think the movie starts at 9 so we should be there at 8:30.
chris: sounds good. I got the tickets already!
alice: awesome! see you guys in front of the cinema.
bob: cool. c ya!
What are you waiting for? Start cliqing with your friends for free! and be sure to let us know what you like and of course what you didn't like about Cliq.
Thanks,
The Cliqster
